Our enemies are not the Jews or Christians, but our enemy is our own ignorance.

Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (as) on Allah’s greatness and lowliness of this world:
“Praise is due to Allah from whose mercy no one loses hope, from whose bounty no one is deprived, from whose forgiveness no one is disappointed and from whose worship no one is too high. his mercy never ceases and his bounty never missed.
this world is a place for which destruction is ordained and for its inhabitants departure from here is destined. it is sweet and green. it hastens towards its seeker and attaches to the heart of the viewer. so depart from here with the best provision available with you and do not ask herein more than what is enough and do not demand from it more than subsistence.”

“When words come from the heart of anyone, they find a place in the heart of another. But when they come merely from the tongue, they don’t go further than the ears.” - Imam Ali (as)

Oh the endless lessons imam ali (as) and his progeny teach one…he did not block the Euphrates from his enemy (the battle of Sifeen), had his done Hussain (as) take back the river, the same one in which the army of the very Muawiya (la) prevented him from reaching in Karbala, and allow his enemy’s army to quench their thirst. All of this while knowing Hussain (as) will go thirsty because he will be blocked access to this very river in Karbala. The thoughts that went through his head at this event during the battle of siffeen, knowing what will transpire later to his son Hussain (as) along the banks of the very same river, one can only imagine. when he will be prevented from reaching the same euphrates, by the army of the son of Muawiya, Yazid (la).
